Two Florida Chapter Members shared their “Small Market Survival” stories in the current issue of the CCIM Institute’s Commercial Investment Real Estate (CIRE) Magazine.
“Big-ticket transactions are tougher to find in small commercial real estate markets. As a result, it can be more difficult for CCIM candidate members to reach the portfolio submission requirements to earn the CCIM designation,” writes Senior Editor Sara S. Patterson. “However, many CCIM designees have prevailed despite small-market challenges. Here they share their tips for market – and mind – expansion with those who find themselves in similar situations,” Patterson shares in her introduction, that features one North District pro and one Southwest District broker.
Gainesville veteran Beau Beery, CCIM, is featured in a segment titled “Expand Your Market and Asset Class Specialization.” Beery shares why a change in strategy has proven a good bet.
Also featured in the article is Ron Welebny, a Southwest District chapter member from Cape Coral, who had to think quickly, applying skills he had just learned in the CI 102 course from Florida-based instructor Gary Ralston, CCIM. A qualifying broker at Rossman Commercial Realty in Cape Coral, Welebny shares compelling details of a deal that almost didn’t happen.
