Odena Finds Unique Training Builds Better Understand of Volusia’s Daytona Beach Market

Sue Odena, CCIMSince moving to her new home in Daytona Beach and joining a boutique brokerage, Central District’s Sue Odena sought out ways to meet more people and learn about this highly unique community. What she found gave her great insights, a few thrills and renewed appreciation for law enforcement.

“When offered the opportunity to participate in the inaugural class of The Volusia County Sheriff’s Academy I jumped in wholeheartedly, this dedicated CCIM explains.

“Fellow participants were business people and private citizens from throughout the county. Our community is an exciting area with new businesses, colleges and universities, theaters and museums, improved infrastructure, a growing population and, of course, the amenities of the World’s Most Famous Beach and the International Speedway that have made us famous throughout the world,” said the long time CCIM who relocated from south Orange County in 2015 and joined Black Pearl Real Estate LLC.

“The Sheriff’s mission is to de-escalate situations whenever possible but to be prepared to act decisively when necessary. They are our neighbors and friends and are dedicated to keeping our citizens and our thousands of visitors safe. It was a privilege and honor to participate in a sample of the training they go through including driving a patrol car with the lights and sirens blaring, marksmanship with guns and rifles, inspecting a mock crime scene and collecting evidence, behind the scenes tours of many of the facilities and presentations by the heads of the various departments within the Sheriff’s Office. I can’t praise these amazing people enough,” she adds.
