Colliers International South Florida Expands Multifamily Expertise

Mitash Kripalani, CCIMColliers International South Florida is expanding its multifamily brokerage expertise with the addition of broker Mitash Kripalani.
As Vice President, Kripalani will be specializing in capital markets with a focus on multifamily, land deals and investment sales.

“The growth of the multifamily expertise represents Colliers’ commitment to bolster key speciality areas in response to market demands,” said Ken Krasnow, Executive Managing Director for Colliers International South Florida. “As the population continues to surge in South Florida and housing affordability poses a real issue, the multifamily sector will become increasingly relevant in supporting our region’s growth.”

Kripalani brings more than a decade of commercial real estate experience to his new role at Colliers, having represented more than $750 million in commercial real estate sales during that time. He has spearheaded numerous multi-million dollar multifamily and condominium conversion projects and completed investment sales across the state of Florida.

Mitash Kripalani understands the Urban Core, and has an extensive track record of closed sales in the Biscayne Corridor. Kripalani represented the buyer and seller in a $5.15 million sale of a covered land opportunity on a 23,000 square foot lot along Biscayne Boulevard. Also nearby, Kripalani completed the $3.75 million sale of a 23-unit building along Biscayne Boulevard. Most recently, he achieved a record-setting price at the Fortuna House apartment building in Edgewater – more than $200,000 per door – for what is considered an older apartment building in the Edgewater area.

He will be joining the Colliers team of Gerard Yetming and Julian Zuniga, adding expertise to core South Florida markets and also servicing emerging Miami neighborhoods, such as Little Haiti, Edgewater and Upper East Side. The combined team has $7 billion in transaction experience in multifamily properties and development sites.

“With multifamily sales in South Florida totaling more than $3.6 billion in 2017, we expect this momentum to continue and multifamily to be a hot sector to watch in 2018 and beyond,” added Executive Vice President Gerard Yetming.

Yetming’s experience comes from brokering landmark deals such as the $125 million sale of Epic East, the largest land sale in the history of downtown Miami and the sale of the prime 2.78-acre Capital at Brickell development site in the Brickell Financial District.

Kripalani has earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and serves as the Education Chairman for the Miami Dade District. He is very passionate about giving back to his community by volunteering his time and knowledge to various organizations. Kripalani is also a recent graduate of the Leadership Miami Program through the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and earned an AA in Business from Miami-Dade College.
