GlobeSt.com Names Two CCIM Leaders as Women of Influence

July 11, 2019

For 26 years, GlobeSt.com has covered the achievements of women in commercial real estate. This year, they honored Florida CCIM Chapter’s very own, Cynthia Shelton, CCIM, CRE as one of five Counselors named as Women of Influence.

This prestigious award recognizes women in the real estate community who significantly impact and grow the profession and their area. Each nominee is judged on reputation in their firm and professional community, career highlights, creativity in problem solving, and dedication to developing their fields and the role of women within it, as well as other measures.

Shelton spearheads the LandQwest Investment Services (LQIS) Division and has been a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Instructor since 1997. Shelton was honored to be chosen and said, “There are a lot of women doing great things in commercial real estate, and it is truly humbling to be recognized among them.”

Shelton’s service to the CCIM Institute and Florida Chapter is significant.  In addition to her service as CCIM Institute Instructor, she served as the President of CCIM Institute in 2002 and in 2009 served as President of the Florida Realtors ® Association.  She received the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2012 Distinguished Service Award, which is presented annually to no more than two of NAR’s members and honors Realtors® with outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and who serve as leaders to the real estate industry and their local communities.

Additionally, Barbara Crane, CCIM, our 2019 CCIM Institute President, was honored in the GlobeSt.com category of Independent/Non-Business Professional this year. Barbara is a successful broker and community leader in San Antonio, Texas. She has been a CCIM Instructor since 2005 and received the Robert L. Ward Instructor of the Year in 2010.
