Sale of Iconic Bubbalous Bodacious Barbecue in Apopka

Robin Webb, CCIMMaitland, Florida based Commercial America Properties has announced the sale of an iconic Orlando area restaurant. Founded by the late Sam Meiner, the Bubbalous Bodacious Barbecue at 1701 Rock Springs Road in Apopka, closed within three weeks of contract. Situated on an outparcel in the Publix anchored Wekiva Plaza, the restaurant has been a mainstay in the market for almost twenty years. Mr. Meiner created the barbeque concept almost thirty years ago, eventually opening seven restaurants throughout Central Florida.

Orange County public records indicate that the 5,146 gross square foot restaurant sold for $1,575.000 or $313 per gross square foot., as a fee simple property. According to Robin Webb, CCIM, the broker with Commercial America Properties, which represented the seller, the purchaser was V 3 Apopka Restaurant, an affiliate of V3 Capital, that was represented by Jeff Tanner and Kim Manson of V 3 Commercial Advisors.

According to Ms. Manson, V 3  will lease the restaurant to El Cielito Lindo, which is under the same ownership as Central Florida based Habaneros Mexican Grills. Renovations are now underway with an anticipated opening in the second quarter of 2022.
