A lot is at stake here. You have heard lots about voting YES for Amendment 2,
and, now is the time to do so and to inform and encourage those in your sphere
of influence to the same.
DO NOT BE MISLED by the emails circulating and encouraging you to VOTE NO for
Amendment 2. While we do not know exactly who is behind this email campaign
in opposition to Amendment 2, it is believed that they include a group that makes
its money challenging property tax assessments.
Make no mistake, Amendment 2 is for everybody. Amendment 2 will keep in place a law that caps property tax increases on non-homestead properties at 10% each year. This Amendment has absolutely no effect on homestead properties. This is not a tax cut as this cap has been in place since 2008, and, passage will make the cap permanent.
If it does not pass, increases on tax on non-homestead properties could increase dramatically; and, make no mistake those increases on commercial properties including residential rentals will be passed onto the consumer.
VOTE NOW IN FAVOR OF AMENDMENT 2!
